What the church confesses
The
United Protestant Congregation follows the Protestant-Christian tradition and
seeks to express her faith in contemporary language and style. The church
confesses that the Bible is God's word, the source of what is preached and the
only rule for faith, as well as the foundation for the Christian life.
In obedience to the Scriptures the church also confesses:
Faith in the one God, who is
creator of the universe and the God
of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The church sees Jesus Christ as the only way to
connect with this God. Jesus is acknowledged as head of the Church and Lord of
the world. In him all God's promises and commandments are revealed, for the
salvation of humankind.
